(Above) the Boardwalk...

Ever hit up Cocoanut Grove on the Santa Cruz boardwalk?

Or sailed just above the actual sea in a mighty pirate ship?

Maybe the Fright Walk is exactly your cup of tea.

(Or not!...)

So you try the 125-foot-high Double Shot...

And come up smiling. Or maybe, squealing!

The thing is, some people never learn.

They just can't seem to resist those gargoyles.

But at least, they've come armed...

And, arguably, dangerous.

Hey, ever been hammered? (Literally, I mean.)

Er...Bishop, you can put the hammer down, now.

(You're at the merry-go-round, dude!)

No danger here, either...except losing your hard-earned cash!

(Some people like to watch others lose their hard-earned cash.)

Others prefer taking one last ride on the wild side.

Good-bye, Santa Cruz boardwalk!

(Ya gotta love that sunset view!!)

DISCLAIMER: This gorgeous photo is the one shot I didn't take.
(Leighann captured it.) Thanks, Leighann.

=)

  6. When I was a kid I remember being so excited to go to a Fun Zone or carnival or county fair! The lights, the noise, the WHOOSH of the rides. And the food! Total heart block of course, but who can resist funnel cake or deep fried Oreos? Looking at your photos I can almost smell the popcorn and hear the crazy noise.

  7. Yep, a bunch of the kids went for the funnel cakes, but Dave and I managed to resist.

    Barely!

  18. Looks like so much of fun. I remember being at so many Carnivals. I was never satisfied with the rides. I always wanted more. Getting back home was the hardest part!

  19. Great pictures Sue. You are getting to be a better photographer by the day. It does look like you had a fun time. It has been so many years since I have done any of that kind of fun. Rich's comment was that he thinks Dave is just perfect as the Bishop of the young singles. Seems like everyone agrees with him.
