A New Spring in My Step!

I've got a secret weapon in my arsenal these days. A whole new feather in my cap. A little more magic in my bag of tricks.

Go ahead. Be very jealous...

But not too jealous, because I won't be one bit mad if you copy me. Not even a little miffed. You see, I'm all about generosity of spirit. And the free exchange of ideas. As well as the American way.

Although I think this idea started out with the French. Or maybe the British, if you take Jimmy Choo into account.

Perhaps you're thinking Dorothy (the original ruby slipper gal) should get the credit.

Whatever. The point is that these red shoes make me feel like a new woman! A vibrant, vital, vixen of a grandma. A borderline babe of a mom! And a sizzling siren of a wife. But that's the least of it.

They give me good energy. (More Glenda, less Wicked Witch of the West.)

Of course, all good things must come to an end...Eventually, I'm eager to head on back to the house, kick 'em off in the general direction of my closet, slide into my trusty crocs, and bask in the relative comfort of familiar frumpiness.

After all, there's no place like home.

(Dorothy told me so.)

;)

  1. Oh wow! You go you little vixen! I'm so jealous. I want a pair of red shoes something fierce! But I don't have any yet. *sniff* I'm afraid that I am going to have to be jealous of you today.

  3. I LOVE your shoes- they're a fabulous shade of red! It's so fun to have a pair of shoes that make you feel woo-wee.

It's funny that a pair of shoes will make a girl feel like a new person- but they do and I love it.

Hey--how do you do that email thing off of comments? Like when I comment on your blog and then you email me?

  5. Lisa-

To tell the truth, I'm not sure. I can only do it with some people's comment emails. I think it depends on what the commenter selects in his or her blogger preferences.

Sorry I can't be more specific. Maybe someone else knows more. Anyone?

  6. You KNOW I have a testimony of red shoes. I must confess that I bought two pairs for Heidi's wedding--one for the temple and one for the reception.
And, in the spirit of full disclosure, I actually wore a third pair to the CA open house.
NOTHING cheers and revitalizes like red shoes.
Glad to see you've joined the party!

  14. Those shoes are AWESOME!! I agree with Laraine - red ANYTHING, but those shoes? Honey - they are HOT! And don't we all love anything that gives us sass and puts that that little swing in our walk?
But I love that you live in your Crocs. That is like me and my leather Olukai thongs. I would wear them to work if I could. Wait a minute... I think I HAVE worn them to work (when the boss is out!) But great formula: red shoe siren about town, but all about comfort at home! Your dogs will thank you. But I've got a yen now for some red shoes!

  16. Cute shoes. Red shoes are the best, I feel pretty sassy in mine too!

Thanks for the feedback on my website. I was able to implement your changes and I think it is more user friendly. I am so sloppy with my grammar, I know it drives my English major/writer friends crazy! So, I apologize ;)

  18. I love it when you do these upbeat posts. I love it that you have some red shoes. I admit that I have a pair of red sandals, but I rarely wear them because I feel I don't have anything to wear with them. I don't often wear red, but by darn, I am going to wear them to church next Sunday for sure. I need a boost and perhaps this will be a good way to get it. I won't even care if they don't math anything. How's that for being inspired.

  19. What? I don't care if they math anything? That doesn't seem to compute. maybe some unsolved equation in my subconcious. Match would be a much better match.

  20. Good one, Mom.

And wear the red sandals! I like them with black or navy or gray....so many possibilities!

    =)

  23. I wore out a pair of very practical but RED lands end all-weather mocs and replaced them with RED suede shoes. I MUST have one pair of red shoes...I'd actually like a pair of RED cowboy style boots, but don't know if I can justify the $$. I always felt HOT in my RED cutlas, then I traded it and the dealer's 70+ mom drove it and I always told her how HOT she looked driving that red car!!
