Don't Sweat the Sweater

I haven't participated in the Magpie Tales writing meme since well before Christmas, and I've missed the fun. This was a good prompt to help me sort of get back into the swing of things. Thanks, Tess!

Don't Sweat the Sweater

Don't like my style?
Then run away.
Don't shake your head.
Don't have your say.

Don't smirk; don't frown;
don't chap my hide.
Don't humor me
in shades of snide.

I live with you.
But I'm still me.
Don't crowd my space.
Don't cramp my free.

Don't patronize
with cheshire smile,
sugjesting I
should try argyle.

Keep your opinions
in your head.
Or I will wear
this thing to bed.

I'm thinking if he offered her some shoes? Lovely, fun and delightful poem, today it seems as though everyone's posts are so happily - clever and podishly cool in such a deeply needed humorishly way! It could be I've been reading far too much Dr. Suess, and he's so good for bringing new words!

Or I will wear this thing to bed? HA! I'd still have to convince this person to STOP wearing this thing.

Hahaha! This made me so happy. I am bundled up in blankets right now, wishing i had something like that sweater contraption. Love the threat at the end! Seriously, how cozy does she look?!

Love the feisty voice and rhythm in this one.

This poem reminds me of a lady I just saw at Costco tonight. But like this one in your poem....she had her own style and I wasn't going to mess with her. (even though I wanted to snap her picture!)

Sounds familiar...reminds me of one of my girls about 10 years ago...only you worded it better. :)

That's my gal. Woolly AND rule-y! lol

I have to say, I absolutely love Cat Stevens lulling in the background here. Harold and Maude is one of my very most favourite films, and the soundtrack, amazing.

I wonder how long it took you to put this together. I love this little ditty. I like the threat of wearing it to bed. That would be me, of course.
