My husband and I have had the conversation lately (we were working on wills and trusts and all that really fun! and exciting! stuff) and we're 33 and 36. :)

We're going for cremation, the kids can ditch the ashes on their next beautiful hike, and take the money they saved to take a BIG trip.

Well, that's the plan. We'll see what really happens after we both kick the bucket.Juliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01959841561323203499noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6072583027504108914.post-74520627389431872482010-01-30T22:38:48.292-08:002010-01-30T22:38:48.292-08:00Okay Sue, I think you are so funny. Madronia is beautiful though. We really got a chuckle, or even an out and out laugh when we read about your argument! We already have our plot and we only got one. I like the military way of burying husband and wife in the one grave. We also have decided that I am going to go first, so I will be on the bottom. That is the "missionary position" so that should be good.Darlenehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16797132860053426517noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6072583027504108914.post-44788930652760997052010-01-28T14:49:05.074-08:002010-01-28T14:49:05.074-08:00I figure he (or she) who goes last gets to choose!...I figure he (or she) who goes last gets to choose!! He thinks I should croak off first because otherwise I would hunch over the sink in the kitchen nibbling blocks of cheese for a meal. (Not true. I don't cook now because he DOES.) I think he should go first because, as I told him, I can then get a small dog to go with me everywhere in a large purse, and it can lay it's head on his pillow at night. (Grosses him out.) So then we laugh, and nothing is ever decided. We need to change that, I guess, and get serious.karenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16313237142656662148noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6072583027504108914.post-69974290859777886142010-01-28T11:42:34.559-08:002010-01-28T11:42:34.559-08:00I have never given this much thought which surpris...I have never given this much thought which surprises me being I think just about everything else. I'm going to ask my husband tonight what he wants. Of course whoever dies first decides, and I've always left it at that. And of course we have the added conflict of my first husband and where he is buried. I'm not sure my present husband wants to be buried by him. I believe my husband and I are the only people in the country who are trying to donate our bodies to anyone when we die and spare our kids the expense and headache. I know you need to have that discussion in America on where to bury your dead and where the plot should be. I have watched many of the "non plan plans" during funerals blow up and start major arguments.

Good luck with that Sue but as long as you are with your "eternal" mate, you should be fine on where you are laid to rest. It is thoughtful for your kids that it gets taken care of.

MayNikia, May and da kidshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07195160857516366137noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6072583027504108914.post-17016257676009813932010-01-28T09:42:08.486-08:002010-01-28T09:42:08.486-08:00We've had this conversation.
